The lift system (20) has a lift car (13) with a guide rail on one side, and traction means supporting a counterweight (18) on one side of the lift car. A rocking device (30) with two arms is fastened to the guide rail and is constructed so that a rocking action of the arms is made possible. A traction means fixing point (29) located on the first side of the lift car is provided on each of the two arms, and the rocking device through the rocking movement prevents unequal loading of the lift's two traction means (22). An independent claim is included for a rocking device for a lift system.
