A lever actuator arrangement for the selective operation of electric switches has a lever 1 coupled to a pivoted hollow body 3 which is mounted within a pivoted hollow body 4 by pivot studs 5 and 6, body 4 pivoting on bushes 7, Fig. 2 (not shown), about an axis at rightangles to the pivotal axis of body 3, movement of lever 1 in any of four directions at right-angles actuating switches 9, 10 or 11, 12, with corresponding pivoting of body 3 or body 4. Plungers 8 for micro-switches 9, 10, pass through bushes 7. Spring-urged ball indexing devices such as 13, Fig. 3, and 14, Fig. 2 (not shown), engage recesses to maintain lever 1 in any of its operative positions. A band contact 19 on lever 1 contacts a metal sleeve 20 when the lever 1 is moved from its neutral position to provide a further switch, e.g. when the arrangement is used in a gear-box assembly. Alternatively a lever 21 pivots at 24 on a plate 25 pivoting at 26 in a housing 27. An insulating block 28 on lever 21 operates micro-switches 35, 36 or 37, 38, Fig. 5 (not shown), and the lever is returned to its neutral position by a spring 50 where a spring-urged ball 31 operates a further microswitch 33. Other movements of lever 21 operate micro-switches 39, 40, Fig. 5 (not shown), and a potentiometer 42, or micro-switches 48, 49, Fig. 5 (not shown). |
