Wax dispersions for use in or as haircare and bodycare preparations

Wax dispersions of average particle size 30 mu m - 100 nm comprise by weight: a specified wax phase (15-30%); amphoteric and/or zwitterionic surfactants (1-10%); di-n-octyl -ether or -carbonate and/or 12C Guerbet alcohol oils (7-15%); and water such that the non-aqueous part makes up to 50 wt.% of the dispersion. Wax dispersions of average particle size 30 mu m - 100 nm comprise by weight: (a) a wax phase (15-30%) comprising dialkyl(ene) ethers, dialkyl(ene)alkoxy ethers, dialkyl(ene) carbonates, fatty alcohols, ethylene glycol distearate, stearic acid monoalkyl or alkoxyalkyl esters, distearyl dicarboxylate esters and/or tristearyl tricarboxylate esters; (b) amphoteric and/or zwitterionic surfactants (1-10%); (c) di-n-octyl ether or carbonate and/or 12C Guerbet alcohol oils (7-15%); and (d) water such that the non-aqueous part makes up to 50 wt.% of the dispersion.
