<p>A container (2), for the safe transport and cleaning/sterilizing of small items, has a lower section (4) with a constant circular inner cross section around the longitudinal axis of the container, and an opening (24) in the base for the inflow of a treatment medium through a barrier valve (20) which can be opened and closed. The upper section (8), with the filling/emptying opening (12) which is opened and closed by a barrier valve (14), has a truncated cone shape with an opening angle (alpha) from the opening of at most 90 degrees.
