The housing for the shed-forming mechanism on a loom is split into a transverse sub-unit (24) and upright units (10, 28). The sub-units are bolted together and attached to the machine frame (12) through elastic connections. Reference planes are established to ensure correct alignment on assembly. - The transverse sub-unit (24) is U-shaped and can act as an oil reservoir. The levers comprising the mechanism are also split into sub-units to fit the housings. A seal is provided at the junction between the sub-units.
