Flexible polyurethane cutting blade for rotary lawn

An elastomeric cutting blade for a rotary lawn mower. The cutting blade has a central rigid metal or plastic mounting plate which is embedded in two elastomer arms provided with cutting edges. These arms are curved in opposite directions and are offset from the plane of the cutting edges. The blade may be made by pre-bending the plate and then casting the elastomer around the plate. The elastomer is pref. polyurethane. These polyurethane blades are flexible and are thus more durable and safer than conventional metal blades.
