<p>The jaws (1, 2) are connected via a link mechanism comprising two angled lever arms (1, 2) and two intermediate links (7, 8). The lever arms are movably connected to a push rod (9) at one end (51, 61) and movably connected at the other end to a fixed point (101, 106) in the mechanism and to the end of a link (71, 81). The other ends (72, 82) of the link is movably connected to a jaw. The attachment points (102, 105) connecting the lever arms to the links and the attachment points (103, 104) connecting the links to the jaws lie in a straight line when a saw-blade is held in the vice during sharpening.</p> |
