The invention concerns an assembly consisting of a rim (10) and a supporting element S for a running tread having a diameter DN not less that the diameter of any part of the rim (10) between the outer end of said bearing (11) and the end of the rather low projection (15') axially extending outside said first rim seat (13') sloping outwards, a second rim seat (13'') being diametrically larger than the first rim seat (13'). Said first rim seat (13') is axially extended by a tapered part (17) defined by the circular end, of diameter D'A, axially inside said seat (13') and by the axially outer end of diameter DN of the rim bearing (11), the diameter DN being greater than the diameter D'A by an amount not less than 0.02 DN, and said rim bearing (11) being provided with at least a circumferential groove (110, 115) wherein is housed a circumferential protuberance (30, 30', 30'') of the surface radially inside the support element S having axial width l less than the width L of the rim bearing (11). |
