PURPOSE: A metal keypad for a cellular phone and a fabrication method therefor are provided to integrate a base, a key top portion, and a front housing through a very thin metal touch pad, thereby remarkably reducing the thickness of a cellular phone. CONSTITUTION: A metal touch pad largely consists of a metal thin section(110) and a silicon pad(120). The metal thin section(110) and the silicon pad(120) are coupled through an adhesive(130) in compressive bonding method. The metal thin section(110) is composed of a brass thin section(111), a nickel plated portion(112), cobalt plated portions(113), and coating portions(114). The silicon pad(120) bonds silicon cover films(122,123) on an upper side and a lower side on the basis of a PC film(121). The lower silicon cover film(123) includes a projection(123') contacted with a dome switch. |
