摘要 PURPOSE: An electronic ballast for a lamp operated by iterative voltage pulses is provided to accelerate discharge of a discharge lamp and to reduce the size and weight of the lamp by designing an inductor in a small size by using small sized coils and components. CONSTITUTION: An electronic ballast for a lamp operated by iterative voltage pulses includes three inductors(W1,W2,W3). The inductors generate iterative voltage pulses to a lamp circuit having the lamp. The inductors include a primary winding to which a current from a voltage source is applied. A secondary winding(W2) of the inductors is short-circuited at a low resistance via controllable short-circuit switches(T3,T4) to generate an operation phase of the electronic ballast. The operation phase is produced when the secondary winding is short-circuited at the low resistance.
