PURPOSE: A method for collecting accounting information for using an instant messaging service, and a system therefor are provided to collect accounting data related to the use of an instant messaging service through a message transceiving session set between plural user terminals, thereby enabling a packet accounting function under instant messaging service environment as well as a selective accounting function. CONSTITUTION: An aggregator receives ACR(Accounting Request) information, which is received from a random node, from an accounting information receiver(310). The aggregator decides whether the received ACR information is accounting start information by using an accounting record type AVP(315). If not, the aggregator decides whether the corresponding ACR information refers to ACR interim information(325). If not, the aggregator decides whether the ACR information is ACR stop information(335). If so, the aggregator generates perfect accounting CDR data(340). If the ACR information is not the ACR stop information, the aggregator generates new CDR data(345). |
