Provided is a heavy duty coating composition which is free from the generation of crack due to the difference of thermal expansion coefficients, is excellent in adhesive strength to a base material, and is improved in corrosion resistance, erosion resistance, abrasion resistance and Izod impact strength. The heavy duty coating composition comprises a base which comprises 100 parts by weight of an unsaturated polyester mixture resin, 0.9-1.1 parts by weight of cobalt octoate as a curing accelerator, 8-12 parts by weight of titanium oxide as a white pigment, 90-110 parts by weight of calcium carbonate as a filler, 18-22 parts by weight of glass flake, 27-33 parts by weight of a glass fiber powder, and 2-3 parts by weight of bentonite; and a curing agent comprising methylethyl ketone peroxide, in a ratio of 95-99 : 1-5 by weight. Preferably the unsaturated polyester mixture resin comprises a vinyl ester-type unsaturated polyester resin and a novolac vinyl ester-type unsaturated polyester resin in a ratio of 1:1. |
