PURPOSE: A method and a system for automatically synthesizing a hair style are provided to automatically extract a face area from image data and automatically synthesize the face area with a hair style wanted by a user by using face recognition technique. CONSTITUTION: A photographing and input unit(110) photographs a person at a specific place for inputting an image signal to a synthesis reference point extracting unit(120). The synthesis reference point extracting unit extracts a face area by separating the face area from a background area, and extracts configuration components from the extracted face area for setting synthesis reference points on the face image. A hair style synthesizing unit(130) matches the extracted synthesis reference points with synthesis reference points set on a hair style to synthesize a hair style image with the face image. |
