Method involves cyclocondensation reaction of 2-naphthylthiopropionitrile in the presence of polyphosphoric acid at temperature 80-120oC, in the molar ratio 2-naphthylthiopropionitrile : polyphosphoric acid = 1:(3-6) for 0.5-4 h and the following hydrolysis of formed chromanimine-4 in aqueous medium and isolation of the end product.
