A method of treating a psychotic disorder, such as schizophrenia, in a non-human mammal comprising administering to the mammal an amount of a mesylate dihydrate salt of 5-(2-(4-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)-1-piperazinyl)ethyl)-6-chloro-1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one that is effective in the treatment of the psychotic disorder.
