The present application concerns the use of compounds that influence the sex hormone system for the treatment of wounds with improved quality of scar formation and/or fibrotic disorders with prevention of inappropriate fibrosis. Preferred compounds for use in such treatments are compounds that inhibit the oestrogenic or the androgenic activity.
