A suspension comprising fibrinogen, thrombin and alcohol is obtained by mixing a fibrinogen and alcohol mixture with a thrombin and alcohol mixture. The suspension contains fibrinogen and thrombin particles wherein the Folk Ward mean diameter of the particles is 25-100um. The suspension can be applied to a coating surface of a carrier. Preferably the carrier is collagen sponge. The suspension can be applied to the carrier by applying the suspension as a wet coating on a coating surface of a carrier and then submitting the coated carrier to a pressure below 1000mbar to obtain a dried coating surface on the carrier so as to fixate the dried coating to the coating surface.
