The layer has roller-formed profiled elements provided with affinity to oxygen in a total amount of 0.1 to 15 weight percentage in relation to a coating. An oxide skin comprising oxides of the elements is formed on a surface of the layer. The coating forms two phases including zinc-rich phase and iron-rich phase. The elements comprise magnesium and/or silicon and/or titanium and/or calcium and/or aluminum and/or boron and/or manganese, where the layer is formed by an electrolytic deposition process. The hardened profiled structural part is made of a hardenable steel alloy.
