COMPOSITION FOR ENHANCING AND REGULATING IMMUNE RESPONSE COMPRISING POLY-GAMMA-GLUTAMIC ACID WHICH HAS NO TOXICITY AND SIDE EFFECTS

PURPOSE: A composition comprising poly-gamma-glutamic acid is provided, which composition enhances and regulates an immune response, and has no toxicity and side effects, so that the composition is useful for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases by bacteria or viruses, and for enhancement of the immune response in immunity-lowered patients and patients suffering from AIDS or cancers. CONSTITUTION: The composition for enhancing and regulating the immune response comprises an effective amount of poly-gamma-glutamic acid with molecular weight of 1 to 15,000 kDa and pharmaceutically acceptable carriers, wherein the dosage of the composition is 5 to 500 mg/kg to 100 to 250 mg/kg per day; and the composition has a formulation selected from powder, granule, tablet, capsule and drink. The functional food having an effect enhancing the immune response comprises poly-gamma-glutamic acid with molecular weight of 1 to 15,000 kDa and sitologically acceptable carriers. The animal feed having an effect enhancing the immune response comprises poly-gamma-glutamic acid with molecular weight of 1 to 15,000 kDa.
