The device has an induction coil (6) supported by a shell (3) made up of insulating material such as deformable thermoplastic material. The shell is made in the form of a cap adapted to a shape of a cooking surface made preferably of glass-ceramic. The shell is mounted at the proximity of the cooking surface and has an opening (11) in which a cooling air ventilator is connected.
