PURPOSE: A fire escape device is provided to enable a fast shelter at any event of emergency, has a greatly reduced size by a simplified power transmission system while ensuring an optimal falling safety. CONSTITUTION: The fire escape device comprises: a case(2); a decelerating wheel(4) which is rotatably disposed within the case(2) and to which a falling rope is connected; an accelerating wheel(6) which is disposed within the case(2) to transmit power to the decelerating wheel(4); and a fixing shaft(10) disposed in a space(8) and connecting the decelerating wheel(4) and the accelerating wheel(6) to enable power transmission therebetween.
