PURPOSE: An automatic checking device and an automatic checking method of an audio reproducing apparatus are provided to decide whether an audio reproducing apparatus is abnormal through a digital audio signal outputted from the audio reproducing apparatus, and to automatically check whether a completely assembled audio reproducing apparatus malfunctions on the production line. CONSTITUTION: A checking setup unit(410) receives checking contents for checking whether an audio reproducing apparatus is abnormal, through a digital audio signal outputted from the audio reproducing apparatus, and sets the inputted contents for each apparatus. An error checker(420) retrieves the checking contents, and checks whether the digital audio signal has an error. An interface(430) reads the product number of the reproducing apparatus, sends a control signal, and receives a digital audio signal outputted according to the control signal. A decoder(440) decodes the digital audio signal. An error information storage(450) stores checked results on the reproducing apparatus. An output unit(460) supplies the checked results on a GUI screen.
