PURPOSE: An improved voice recognition apparatus and a method thereof are provided to give a voice command through a natural speech of a user at any time by recognizing different operation according to circumstances. CONSTITUTION: A user input module(210) receives first operation and second operation sequentially inputted from a user(10), and receives a voice signal of the user. A voice recognition module(240) sets up a voice recognition end point by using the user input and the voice signal, and recognizes words corresponding to the voice signal. An external output module(270) outputs the recognized words on a screen, and outputs a voice message synthesized by a voice synthesizing module(260). The voice recognition module judges whether the second operation is performed within predetermined time after the first operation is performed. If so, the voice recognition module executes a voice recognition process.
