PURPOSE: A toner is provided to be less consumed per sheet of images and thus to achieve many-sheet printing in a smaller quantity, to cause neither sleeve negative ghost nor spots around line images, to cause no blotches on the developing sleeve, and to show superior development and fixation even in high-speed image forming apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The toner comprises toner particles comprising toner base particles containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, and inorganic fine particles, wherein the toner base particles has a circle-equivalent diameter of 3 micrometers to 400 micrometers as measured with a flow type particle image analyzer, an average circularity of 0.935 to 0.970 and an average surface roughness of 5.0 nm to 35.0 nm as measured with a scanning probe microscope, and the binder resin contains at least a vinyl resin having as partial structure, a linkage formed by the reaction of a carboxyl group with an epoxy group.
