PURPOSE: A method and a system for producing herbaceous chips are provided to produce the herbaceous chips in large quantities by processing the trunks of herbaceous plants to recycle them as a substitution material of wood chips. CONSTITUTION: The method for producing herbaceous chips includes steps of: harvesting the trunks of herbaceous plants on the field; drying the trunks; removing the leaves from the trunk; removing the trunk inner from the trunk; and chopping the trunk outer, which remains after the trunk inner is removed from the trunk, to a determined size.
