PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same are provided to make the response speed high through the circuit drive although the material of the liquid crystal is not changed. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device includes a timing controller(400), a scan driver(200), a data driver(300) and a liquid crystal panel(100). The timing controller outputs the correction data of the expanded gray scale range in response to the input of the current frame data. The scan driver outputs the scan signals sequentially. The data driver outputs the data voltage corresponding to the correction data. And, the liquid crystal panel is provided with a scan line for transmitting the scan signal, a data line for transmitting the data signal and a switching device formed between the scan line and the data line.
