PURPOSE: To provide a composition for cast iron having excellent oxidation resistance capable of improving durability reliability and minimizing catalyst damage due to oxidation scale by controlling constituents of an alloy for engine exhaust systems such as exhaust manifolds used at high temperature, thereby increasing oxidation resistance of the alloy at high temperature, and an automobile exhaust manifold using the same. CONSTITUTION: The composition for cast iron comprises iron(Fe) as a basic constituent, 4.0 to 4.7 wt.% of silicon(Si), 0.05 to 0.6 wt.% of aluminum(Al), 0.4 to 0.6 wt.% of molybdenum(Mo), 2.9 to 3.8 wt.% of carbon(C), 0.5 wt.% or less of manganese(Mn), 0.04 wt.% or less of phosphorus(P) and 0.02 wt.% or less of sulfur(S), wherein the composition for cast iron comprises iron(Fe) as a basic constituent, 4.24 wt.% of silicon(Si), 0.23 wt.% of aluminum(Al), 0.55 wt.% of molybdenum(Mo), 3.1 wt.% of carbon(C), 0.22 wt.% of manganese(Mn), 0.031 wt.% of phosphorus(P) and 0.006 wt.% of sulfur(S). The automobile engine exhaust manifold is characterized in that it is manufactured using the composition for cast iron.
