PURPOSE: A method for setting the rough area in a car navigation device is provided to prevent the accident by manually or automatically setting the rough area on the road. CONSTITUTION: A method for setting the rough area in a car navigation device includes the steps of: selecting and assigning(S30) the rough area displayed on the map by the user to guide the road; storing(S50) the assigned rough area selected by the user; displaying(S90) the stored rough area.
