PURPOSE: To provide a crop shear apparatus for wire rod roughing mill capable of reducing the number of crop-chopping by increasing length of a wire rod work drawn out by shear blades and smoothly performing wire rod rough rolling process by stably crop-chopping a tail portion of the wire rod work in a trough guide during crop-chopping operation of shear. CONSTITUTION: In a crop-shear apparatus for wire rod roughing mill installed in a wire rod rough rolling process for producing a wire rod product, the crop shear apparatus(1) for wire rod roughing mill comprises a plurality of extraction cylinders(10a,10b) in which rods are mounted on one side of bodies(102a) equipped with a plurality of crop-chopping blades(110) such that the rods are disposed in a radial direction of the bodies; a plurality of arms(14a,14b) respectively mounted on the rods of the extraction cylinders and disposed along a width direction of the crop-chopping blades; and a pneumatic control part(50) for providing the extraction cylinders with pneumatic pressure, thereby extending the arms in a radial direction of the bodies such that the arms have outer diameter larger than that of the crop-chopping blades, wherein the arms pull a cobble formed wire rod work during rotation of the bodies so that the cobble formed wire rod work is cut by the crop-chopping blades.
