PURPOSE: A method for automatically/repeatedly inputting a key on a portable computer equipped with a touch screen including an automatic repeating button is provided to offer convenience to a user and shorten a time for making a document by automatically/repeatedly inputting the key in case that the user inputs the key and the automatic repeating button at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A key value inputted through a key matrix displayed on the touch screen is detected. It is checked that the automatic repeating button is an on-state. In the case of the on-state, the confirmed key value is continuously/repeatedly inputted. In the case that the automatic repeating button gets to be an off-state during repeated input, the key input is stopped.
