ANTIBACTERIAL EXTRACT ISOLATED FROM STARFISHES BY PROTEASE TREATMENT AND ANTIBACTERIAL ARTICLE CONTAINING THE SAME AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE: Provided is the antibacterial extract obtained by treating starfishes with proteases. The bioactive material having antibacterial activity is used as an active ingredient of the antibacterial article. CONSTITUTION: The antibacterial article is characterized by containing the extract of starfishes, wherein the extract is obtained by the steps of: adding distilled water to starfishes, followed by treatment of proteases then stirring at 50 deg.C for 5 hours; centrifuging the extract to separate residues, followed by addition of 3 times amount of methanol then stirring at 4 deg.C for 5-6 hours; and vacuum-filtering the extract. The starfishes include Asterias amurensis or Asterias pectinifera.
