PURPOSE: A method of making functional rice containing organic germanium by allowing infiltration of a functional solution containing a germanium-containing material into rice or attaching the functional solution to the rice is provided. It can easily coat a functional material on the surface of rice within a short time while minimizing the destruction of rice. CONSTITUTION: A germanium-containing material is diluted into a solvent containing alcohol or water to give a functional solution which is sprayed on rice and dried. The germanium-containing material contains natural germanium which is obtained by allowing a bee to take germanium or synthetic germanium((GeCH2CH2COOH)2O3). The germanium-containing material contains at least one of Se or Zn and is capable of being absorbed into the body.
