摘要 <p>PURPOSE: An emissive flat panel display device is provided to allow a gate operation to be performed at a relatively low voltage by using gate electrodes. CONSTITUTION: An emissive flat panel display device comprises a rear panel(1) and a front panel(2). The rear panel includes a plurality of cathode electrodes(701) extended in a first direction and arranged in a second direction crossing the first direction, wherein the cathode electrodes have a large number of electron sources made of nanotubes; and a plurality of gate electrodes(702) extended in the second direction and arranged in parallel in the first direction, with insulation layers interposed between the cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes. The cathode electrodes and the gate electrodes are arranged on a rear substrate(601). The front panel includes phosphor layers and anode electrodes(602). The phosphor layers have a plurality of colors which emit light by the excitation of electrons extracted from the electron sources on a display region of the rear panel and anode electrodes. The relationship between an electric field strength Emax for obtaining the maximum emission current density required for the electron sources and an electric field strength Emin which allows the emission current density to become a value of 1/1000 of the maximum emission current density is expressed as Emax-Emin=1V/§­ or less.</p>
