PURPOSE: An air conditioner is provided to set the addresses of plural indoor units quickly and accurately by receiving temporary addresses of indoor units of the air conditioner in a mobile communication terminal through the short message service. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner is composed of plural indoor units(104a-104h) connecting the short message service, and outdoor units(102a,102b) connected and communicated with plural indoor units. The indoor unit of the air conditioner transmits the intrinsic address to a designated mobile communication terminal(112) in demanding the confirmation of the address of the indoor unit. The indoor unit includes a remote controller signal receiving unit, and a remote controller(110) has an address identification mode key. The air conditioner demands the address identification of the indoor unit by operating the address identification mode key of the remote controller with the user. The air conditioner generates the address of the indoor unit at random.
