PURPOSE: A method for controlling a reset procedure of a wireless communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to minimize interference caused by unexpected STATUS PDU during the reset procedure. CONSTITUTION: A transmitter(52) performs wireless communication with a receiver(54) receiving the first receiving status report transmitted from a receiver. When the first receiving status report is determined to include a protocol error, a communication interface(56,64) enables a reset procedure and transmits RESET PDU to the receiver. A determination logic is connected to the communication interface electrically, and recognizes the proceeding reset procedure before the communication interface receives RESET ACK PDU being output from the receiver. The determination logic controls the communication interface to neglect the second receiving status report being output from the receiver, and the second receiving status report is received later than the first receiving status report.
