PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to eliminate the necessity of arranging a black stripe by permitting a bus electrode to reduce an external light reflectivity. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises barrier ribs(25) and discharge sustain electrodes. The barrier ribs are disposed in the space formed between a first substrate(10) and a second substrate(20) such that the barrier ribs define discharge cells(27R,27G,27B) and non-discharge regions(26). Each of the barrier ribs includes a first barrier rib member(25a) for defining the discharge cells in a column direction, and a second barrier rib member(25b) for defining the discharge cells in a row direction. The discharge sustain electrodes include scan electrodes(Ya) for selecting discharge cells in cooperation with address electrodes(A) arranged on the second substrate, and display electrodes(Xn) for starting and sustaining a discharge in the discharge cells in cooperation with the scan electrodes. The discharge sustain electrodes are arranged on the first substrate opposed to the second substrate. Each of the discharge cells is disposed at a first quarter to a fourth quarter of each of coordinates formed by a horizontal axis and a vertical axis passing through each of centers of non-discharge regions. The display electrodes are disposed at centers between two discharge cells, and the scan electrodes are disposed at both sides of the display electrodes. The display electrodes and the scan electrodes includes bus electrodes(14a,16a) connected with respective protrusion electrodes(14b,16b). |
