PURPOSE: A network searching method in a mobile communication terminal is provided to periodically collect/manage channel information on serving cells and peripheral cells, and to search for a network by attempting a frequency retrieval with the channel information if a communication disconnection occurs, thereby more quickly searching for the network. CONSTITUTION: If a user turns on a terminal(S31), a main controller adjusts a synchronization by receiving synchronous burst information after generating a channel list for channel cells(S32). If a camp-on process is successful(S33), serving cells transmit channel information on the serving cells and peripheral cells to a terminal(S34). The terminal periodically updates the channel information on the peripheral cells(S35). If a network is lost owing to a communication disconnection(S36), the terminal sequentially attempts a frequency retrieval by using the channel information, and transfers to a camp-on state again by searching for the network(S37,S38).
