PURPOSE: A method for processing the digital map data is provided to optimize the overall cost value of each sequence under the predetermined restriction condition by performing the determination of path. CONSTITUTION: A method for processing the digital map data includes the steps of: providing(301) a list of cost values for the zones of a region; determining(302) a destination point; determining(303) the current position; checking(304) whether a cost value re-determination criterion is met or not; re-determining(305) the cost values; determining(306) the optimum sequence of zones if the criterion is not met in step 304; determining(307) the actual route; determining(308) whether the route passing the zones of the sequence is not possible or only possible with additional and unexpected costs; outputting(309) the route information; and checking(310) whether a position update criterion is met.
