RESIN COMPOSITION COMPRISING ETHYLENE-VINYL ALCOHOL COPOLYMER RESIN WITH ANOTHER THERMOPLASTIC RESIN, AND PRODUCING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: Provided are a resin composition which generates less odor and therefore is suitable for food packaging applications, and particularly has an improved melt stability and is superior in long-run workability, and a manufacturing method thereof. CONSTITUTION: The resin composition comprises an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer(F) and a thermoplastic resin(G) other than ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. In the composition, the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer(F) contains 0.1-20 micromol/g in terms of alkali metal, of an alkali metal salt(A), 0-2 micromol/g of a carboxylic acid group(C1) extracted by immersion treatment in water at 95deg.C for 10 hours, and 0-40 micromol/g of a carboxylic acid group(C2) extracted by immersion treatment in a 0.05N aqueous sodium hydroxide solution at 95deg.C for 10 hours. Alternatively, the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer(F) contains 0.1-20 micromol/g of an alkali metal salt(A) and 0-2 micromol/g of a carboxylic acid group(C1) extracted by immersion treatment in water at 95deg.C for 10 hours, and has a saponification of 99.7-100 mol%.
