PURPOSE: A refractory composition used in forming a structure in a fluid layer reduction furnace for fine iron ore is provided to improve abrasion resistance, corrosion resistance and thermal shock resistance, and thus to improve the quality of pig iron manufacture and to maintain the stable working condition for a long period. CONSTITUTION: The refractory composition used in forming a structure in a fluid layer reduction furnace for fine iron ore comprises: 9-17wt% of calcined alumina; 3-6wt% of ultrafine vaporized silica(SiO2), 5-10wt% of alumina cement and the balance of sintered alumina or melt alumina.
