The device has a body (14) comprising a heating plate (3) on which a cook set (2) containing food is placed. A safety contact (10) at the center of the plate activates the plate when the cook set is placed on the plate. The plate is heated by rechargeable batteries (9) comprising a contact (12) that varies the heating of the plate. A recharge socket (8) is provided at the rear side of the body for recharging the batteries.
