PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna element of a simple structure for receiving a radio wave in broadband frequencies and to provide a small-sized indoor antenna employing the antenna element and easily installed indoors. SOLUTION: The antenna element includes: a conductive conductor plate 2 formed in a rectangular form; a cutout hole 3 with an opening which is located nearly in the center of the conductor plate 2 and has a shape wherein the distance of opposed side edges 6 is gradually increased or gradually decreased; a communicatively connecting hole 4 opened in a communicatively connected state to the cutout hole 3 and reaching the one side of the conductor plate 2; and a pair of feeding points 5 respectively provided in the vicinity of points across the communicatively connecting hole 4, and the antenna element feeds a radio wave received by the conductor plate 2 to the feeding points 5 as an electric signal.
