METHOD FOR DETERMINING REPRODUCING LIGHT INTENSITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for determining the optimum reproducing laser light intensity for reproducing the user data or various kinds of management data in a magneto-optical recording medium of a magnetic expansion transfer system in a shorter time with good accuracy. SOLUTION: In the method for determining the reproducing laser light intensity, a test reproducing region formed of magnetic domains of random sizes not subjected to recording processing disposed in the magneto-optical recording medium of a non-magnetic field MAMMOS is irradiated with laser light while changing the laser light intensity and a magneto-optical signal is detected before user information is reproduced. The reproducing laser light intensity is then determined based on the reference signal and sample signal of the magneto-optical signal obtained from the test reproducing region.
