PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rudder angle detecting device which makes it possible for a car-side host system to detect the neutral position of a steering shaft easily and surely. SOLUTION: The rudder angle detecting device 1 is provided with detecting gears 3-4 which rotate in interlock with the steering shaft, a magnetometric sensor 32 for detecting the rotation angle of the detecting gear 3, a magnetometric sensor 42 for detecting the rotation angle of the detecting gear 4, and an AND circuit 5 which outputs a neutral position signal when the magnetometric sensors 32, 42 output Z-phase pulse signals together. On this occasion, the magnetometric sensors 32, 42 output the Z-phase pulse signals together, when the steering shaft is at the neutral position, and the frequency x1 of the magnetometric sensor 32 is prime to the frequency x2 of the magnetometric sensor 42.
