<p>The invention comprises 9 classes of closely related novel monoazo dyestuffs for (half) synthetic fibres, especially linear aromatic polyesters and cellulose esters e.g. Terylene, cellulose acetate, and the first class having the formula: where G=H, or (subst.)alkyl or alkoxy; ++ may form sat. ring optionally with hetero atoms, which are made by coupling (in cooled e.g. 0.5 C acid soln.) diazotised 2-amino-5-nitrobenzonitrile with the required coupling component. The alkyl groups may be sat. or unsat., linear or branches, and usually have 1-4C, preferably 1-2C.</p> |
