The process consists of compacting each type of waste (2), forming briquettes (9) with a spherical, cylindrical, prismatic shape, etc. formed in the compacting chamber (3) of the machine. A binding material, such as a resin, and a dye, which color indicates the type of waste, are injected in the briquette in a final stage. After polymerization and solidification, the briquettes are diverted automatically to a storage chamber (24) for their subsequent transfer. The machine includes a compacting chamber (3) with a side wall (5) and a top wall (8) movable by means of respective hydraulic cylinders (6,7).
