<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To let electric charges charged on a function unit escape to equipment side in low-cost simple construction, with the function unit being used inserted in the equipment. <P>SOLUTION: This grounding mechanism 50 is formed with a torsion coil spring 51 as an elastic member. The torsion coil spring 51 has a coil portion 51a and two extension portions 51b, 51c extending from the coil portion 51a. The torsion coil spring 51 is provided on an engagement portion 34 of a sheet carrying device 30 so that the extension portion 51b is pressed against a sheet carrying guide 33 as a conductive member of the sheet carrying device 30. The extension portion 51c extends at a preset angle to the direction of inserting the sheet carrying device 30 into a printer 1 and is pressed against a conductive member 2a of the printer 1 at the final stage of insertion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
