PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recombinant vector for transformation for detecting benzoic acid and its derivative, and its transformant, and provide a method for detecting benzoic acid and its derivative using the transformant.

SOLUTION: The recombinant vector for transformation for detecting benzoic acid and its derivative and its transformant comprise a light-emitting gene coding for a light-emitting protein and a series of gene set for inducing expression of the light-emitting gene. The series of gene set has a regulation gene nagR and a promotor section for inducing transcription of the light-emitting gene with protein NagR coded by the gene nagR. The method comprises detecting benzoic acid and its derivative by reacting the transformant with a test sample and using the generated amount of light emission.
