PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the overdischarge of a battery when allowing a work machine to temporarily travel by operating only electric motors, in the work machine for simultaneously using an internal combustion engine together with the electric motors. SOLUTION: This work machine 10 has a work device 40, the internal combustion engine 34 for driving the work device, traveling devices 20L and 20R, the electric motors 33L and 33R for driving the traveling devices, a generator 54 driven by the internal combustion engine, and supplying electric power to a battery 55 and the electric motors, and a control part 56 for controlling the electric motors, in a machine body. The control part can perform a mode by switching to a battery mode of rotating the electric motors only by electric power supplied from the battery in a state of stopping the internal combustion engine; sets a residual capacity lower limit value of the battery required for starting the internal combustion engine by one time or more, when performing the battery mode; and issues an announcing signal for requiring the starting of an engine to an annunciator, by stopping the electric motors, when the residual capacity reduces to the residual capacity lower limit value, by always measuring the residual capacity of the battery.
