PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone remote control system, apparatus and method in which preventive measures against a mischief or malicious invasion can be taken with a simple mechanism. SOLUTION: In the telephone remote control system which is provided with a terminal device connected to a telephone line and a center device, and in which a dial tone command is used for one device to control the other device, each time a dial tone is transmitted/received, at least one of command transmitting and receiving sides transmits a cutoff signal to cut off the telephone line. Thus, when the telephone line is used to perform remote control on the terminal device, a problem that there is the danger of mischief or malicious invasion from a terminal such as a telephone set or a personal computer other than the center device, is solved.
